                                                ABOUT US

Scooter Stuff is an aftermarket motorcycle shop catering to Harley Davidsons and metric cruisers.  We offer parts, accessories, technical support, clothing, collectibles, local crafts, jewelry, and a great cup of coffee.  We are located in the last standing building in Park, Washington.  Originally known as The Park Store.

Where?  You might ask.

We are located at the south end of Lake Whatcom, directly east of the town of Bellingham, Washington. Scooter Stuff operates in the first floor of the last standing building in Park, Washington -- known as The Park Store. See the map.

A little history for you buffs?

The Park Store was built originally in the late 1800's and provided mercantile services and steamboat passes to Bellingham, This was the only way to reach the Mount Baker forest from Bellingham. The original building was built in 1893 and moved from its location on Lake Whatcom to its present location in 1928.   Unfortunately, the chimney was cracked when it was moved and it subsequently burned to the ground due to a chimney fire. With the help of the towns of Park and Blue Canyon and the Odd Fellows, the current building was constructed in 1929 for the sum of $2,600.

The Park Store continued to operate as a general store until the 1970's when it was abandoned. In 1990, a corporately-stressed and burned-out couple, one originally from the Northwest and the other a proverbial "Army brat", stumbled upon the Store while visiting family during the Christmas holidays. We spent our entire vacation researching the building, checking its zoning, seeing what we needed to do to get it liveable.  So--lo' and behold--a Life Change!!!

Bob and I bought the old Store and have been lovingly restoring it ever since. We were following our dream...and that is to give quality customer service at reasonable prices with the comfort and feel of the old-time shop in a historic setting.

Bob and I felt extremely lucky to be blessed with this building and its history; and we would like to share it with you and hope, after a visit, you will feel the same, too.

Tragically, Bob passed away on 9 February 2006, so I am continuing on with “our dream”.  What else would I do?  And where else would you go?
